Client's Needs:
Dutch Bros was interested in developing a corporate-wide environmental, social, and governance (ESG) program, including strategies, roadmaps, goals and a reporting framework. Dutch Bros also needed a carbon and water footprint and climate risk analysis to understand its impacts, hotspots, and where to focus its efforts.
About the Project
We used the results from the materiality assessment, carbon and water footprint, and climate risk analysis to inform a collaborative process to develop strategic priorities and achievable goals for Dutch Bros.
Approach:
Shift Advantage managed a materiality assessment that included facilitating sessions with leaders and key employees from Dutch Bros to understand priorities, challenges, opportunities, and customer expectations. We complemented this work with industry research and trend analysis. We performed a carbon and water footprint and provided a climate risk analysis to identify vulnerabilities, risks and opportunities.

Results:
This work enabled Dutch Bros to understand their overall sustainability performance and opportunities for improvement. We identified and prioritized the ESG issues that were most critical to Dutch Bros and their stakeholders. We used the results from the materiality assessment, carbon and water footprint, and climate risk analysis to inform a collaborative process to develop strategic priorities and achievable goals. Our work enabled the company to develop a resilient business strategy to address the greatest risks, vulnerabilities, and areas of opportunity.
