The Making App is an easy-to-use tool that provides a visual and graphical interface displaying the environmental impacts of materials.
Approach:
Shift Advantage partnered with a leading app developer to create an app that provides material information in a usable and visual format. The work included analyzing complex water, chemistry, energy, and waste data to create usable and relevant information for an App.

Results:
The Making App was created and distributed through iTunes. The Making App is an easy-to-use tool that provides a visual and graphical interface displaying the environmental impacts of materials. This includes material rankings based on the impact areas of chemistry, energy, water, and waste, as well as the material’s recycled and organic content. Through direct comparisons, the app guides product designers and developers in considering better choices in the materials they use.
